The governing agency responsible for regulation and licencing in the state is the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. In order to be prequalified to obtain a license, one must be at least 18 years of age, have good moral character, and have proof of citizenship or qualified alien status. The education necessary when it comes to pre-licensing is a complete 90 hour of approved basic real estate course. The Commission will also accept 6 college credit hours in a real estate discipline for the education component.
OK mandates each person pass a national background check that includes fingerprinting. Each Sales associate licensee must be sponsored by a broker to have an active license status.
The Oklahoma real estate license exam has 80 questions on the national portion and 40 questions on the state-specific portion with a passing score of at least 75%. The exams are administered by PSI Services, LLC at the examination centers located in Oklahoma City, McAlester, Tulsa, and Woodward.
For each three year renewable license year, a sales associate has a 21 hour continuing education requirement.
